Pins
For this assignment, we were challenged with creating a series of buttons for the Blanton Museum of Art that would be given to visitors of the Graphic Design exhibit. My design movement was Dada, so I created three sets of buttons based off of three Dada artists featuring their portraits, a quote from them, and select works.
TASA
For this assignment, we were given the task of creating a information booklet for the annual TASA (Texas Association of Schools of Art) Conference which takes place over 3 days. We were only allowed to use 2 colors, and we had to effectively design a layout that would be as cost effective as possible, meaning getting all the information into a booklet/pamphlet of some sort using as little paper as possible while maintaining legibility and quality design. We had to include itinerary, campus and city maps as well as a list of speakers and their biographies, as well as information on each workshop. I started with a basic design (which is seen on the left) which, after a few revisions, ended up turning into a more illustrated version of a kid throwing a paper airplane. Rather than full color, I used halftone-dots to simulate a comic book-esque feeling.

Critical Mass
In this project - our first in After Effects - we were supposed to create an animated allegory for a scientific concept. I chose earthquake. The sequence shows a war between logic and love going on in between the girls head. Those represent the tectonic plates creating friction/pressure which eventually causes the girl to shake her head in distress, symbolizing the shaking of the ground during an earthquake.
